Autumn Foraging & Wreath Making Workshop
Autumn Foraging & Wreath Making Workshop
Come foraging in the local countryside with us, for some of our favourite seasonal flora and foliage. We love to bring in wild elements in our work, so foraging is a key part of our floristry process - but its a skill to know what to pick and when and follow the rules of foraging. We wanted to share our knowledge in an introductory foraging workshop to celebrate the coming of autumn and its beautiful bounty. Details below!
Dates:
- Friday 11th October, 3:45pm - 7pm
-
Saturday 12th October, 9:45am - 1pm
(click 'select a time' button above to book online!)
Workshop Includes:
- 3 hour workshop in and around the grounds and local farmlands near Llandough Castle, Cowbridge (we will be foraging and then having a coffee/cake for approximately half the time, followed by wreath making in the latter half).
- Wreath making tutorial from Rhian, using a locally pre-made natural wreath base
- We will spend around half the time out and about foraging for seasonal flora and foliage (please note this is of course the countryside, so involves some natural hazards like uneven surfaces, hills, overgrown areas etc
- We will provide foraging scissors and baskets. The baskets will also available to purchase if you'd like.
- Back at the castle we will head into the orangery to enjoy some coffee and cake. Rhian will give a tutorial on how to make your wreath. We will also provide supplementary flowers and foliage to use mixed with what you have foraged, along with a selection of luxury ribbon to finish. Multiple team members will be there to help.
- You will take your wreath home to enjoy.
Please arrive by the set arrival time so we can get ready to leave the castle as a group sharply. Please bring suitable footwear and clothing (e.g. bring wellies/boots and a rain mac if needed). Rhian's dogs will be coming foraging with us, and will also be back at the castle (just to note).
There is parking on site, however this is private parking for the house so it is limited - if you're coming with friends please arrive together where possible. Please also note the house is in a very small village, with narrow winding lanes! Please drive carefully.
